~GUNSTOCK'S 70-METER JUMP IS CELEBRATING ITS 75TH ANNIVERSARY!~
Snow was abundant the year Torger Tokle set the hill record of 251 ft. in 1941, a record that stood for 35 years. The jump was named in memory of Tokle in March, 1946, after he was killed during the Italian Campaign of World War II.
The Gunstock Mountain Historic Preservation Society (GMHPS) is currently working to restore not only the Torger Tokle Memorial Ski Jump, but all four historic jumps located at Gunstock. Please show your support for the work of the Society by becoming a member or by making a donation to this project!
Members of the society are currently busy planning events to be held throughout 2012 to celebrate this special anniversary. A traditional ski ball is planned for November 10, 2012 at the historic Main Lodge at Gunstock. Tickets for this great event will go on sale soon!
